Should I tell my parents about me getting a vasectomy?

I just turned 18 and I want to get one. I am asking because my dad's insurance might cover it, but I can pay for it myself anyway. I have a girlfriend but she doesn't want kids. I don't want kids for at least 8 years so I figured vasectomy would be the best answer since I will be in college soon and don't want any mistakes, especially one that expensive. I might get it reversed later and I know the chances that reversal might not work blah blah but should I see if my dad's insurance covers or just go do it myself and not tell them?
