Why is America getting involved in another war when a significant proportion of their population are poor?

By international standards, America has no poor. By American standards, we have many (as you stated) and two thirds of the people worldwide are poor. I disagree with intervening in the lose/lose scenario of Libya and I'm amazed that the very people who condemned Bush for helping the Iraqi people are for it but in many situations in the Middle East, not getting involved invites America to shrink to international standards then most Americans will be poor.
