I can get a new RCA 52" widescreen projection HDTV w/Digital Tuner for $800 or?

a Sanyo 42" widescreen LCD HDTV with Digital/og tuner for $998. Which one is the better buy and will last the longest or be cheaper to repair. I have a 52" RCA HDTV from1997 and I have never spent a cent on it since it was bought. My husband has eye problems and wants another 52", but I am afraid that if I don't get a LCD that I can afford I might be stuck with something that is obsolete in 2 years. We have very limited income and I need the best deal.
